Have we ever had a discussion on what’s the best looker from the Group B Reg days? I don’t think so, but I have been gone for over a year. Let’s, for the sake of the discussion stay away from the 4000cc, 288 GTO and 959 just aren’t fair.
I’m somewhat saddened and shocked to say that I come down to the two little frenchies — Renault 5 Turbo or Peugeot 205 Turb0 16 (evo 2 does it for me best I think). And I think, having to choose, it’d be the Peugeot. I can’t even explain it why, I don’t even necessarily like their homologation runs (there it would be the Delta S4). Isn’t that strange. First time in my life, and surely the last, I’ll give a nod of acknowledgement to those cheese-eating surrender monkeys. Full disclosure, I also kind of liked the f1 platypus nose — make of that what you will.
What say you, Oppo?

There’s no contest. It’s the 037.

It’s really hard to pick one. So I picked three. Honourable mention goes to the Group S 222D, although since it was a Group S car it doesn’t really count.

These rally cars were absolutely nutty so it’s difficult to imagine how epic 288/959 battles could have been.
In any case, I like this one because it looks like tremendous fun, and I think it looks kind of neat:
And this one because of triangles and wankels and RPMs:

What do I win? (Ignoring the fact that it was only a prototype...)

4000CCs were excluded.

Darn. Citroen BX 4TC Group B instead.

I’m gonna find a loophole in your rules (this is a racecar discussion, after all) and go for the Ferrari 308 GTB Michelotto.
3000cc class, came in both Group 4 and Groub B specs, and not a 288 GTO, so it counts. Also, better looking than the 288.
Within the spirit of the rules, yes, it’s the Froggenwagens all the way.

It also competed in only two WRC events in Group B spec, two years apart, and retired from both.

It has to be the RS2000

Yup, it made a totally crap rally car. Big surprise given the ground clearance, proportions, and Ferrari reliability.
Damn pretty though.

Probably not the best on a dirt stage.

We excluded the 4000ccs because the 959 and 288 gto weren’t fair. Gorgeous things they were.
